Impatiens Walleriana, bright and colourful.

I bought this plant cheap because it wasn’t in top condition. It’s still very pretty.

It’s easy to google a plant and have all the information you want. I prefer to discover any secrets a plant holds by taking a few pics with my macro. This plant has a few surprises.

Impatiens Walleriana. I googled it for a few clues.

Not in peak condition but the flowers are very pretty.

Sticky well developed stigma sitting on a stumpy set of ovaries.

Where are the anthers? Turns out the anthers are part of a hood structure which falls away as the stigma develops. Is this plant male, female or both. Depends on when you look at it. It’s not an important issue for this plant.

Buds preparing to open.

Beautiful bloom, but the male bits have dropped off. Ill watch the flat buds open and check out the male side of the flower.

The hood I presume, is still attached. The green thingy look as if it could be a developing stigma. I’ll look again tomorrow
