Portuluca Grandiflora, a first look.

With a name that suggests a higher status among flowering plants this wee beauty was purchased from my local plant shop in Kumeu. Terrific value at $2.50. This is a first look.

I’m a sucker for succulents. That is the limit of my knowledge here.

Salmon pinks and lemon yellows, would catch the eyes of any flyby insects. Heaps of anthers surround a strappy, sticky stigma.

The anthers and stigma are well past their best in this picture.
