Texas Bluebell or Lisianthus.

Elegant pink flowers caught my eye. Lisianthus otherwise known as a Texas Bluebell.

Soft green leaves. Deep flowers ensure insects will rattle around the interior for a bit before moving on. Nature always has a plan.

Some Lisianthus change colour after pollination apparently. Google will have the answer but I’ll wait and see.

A bud begins unwrapping. Wonder how long it takes. Maybe another candidate for a time-lapse. Nice break from watching football.

Twin lobes on the stigma. Looks like the ziplocks on the anthers are starting to come apart. Dehiscing is the technical term biologists prefer.

A closer look.. The stitching on one of the anthers is coming undone, spilling pollen grains.
